Audi has revealed the all-new A3 model, which now includes a three-door variant, ahead of its order books opening next month.

Engine line-up for the new Audi A3 includes six engines (three petrol and three diesel units), with power outputs ranging from 110bhp to 190bhp.

The 1.0-litre TFSI petrol engine is a new entry-level option. There is also a completely new 2.0-litre TFSI petrol unit, generating 190bhp, delivering 236lb-ft of torque.

The 2.0-litre TFSI engines are joined by a fully newly developed seven-speed S tronic twin-clutch transmission with wet clutch, which replaces the previous six-speed dual clutch transmission with dry clutch.

Upgrades over the predecessor include a more sharply styled design and additional engine options. The singleframe grille features sharper lines and is broader, with flatter new-look headlights. The rear gets a new redesigned diffuser. Colour options now include twelve paint colours including five new colours Ara blue, Cosmic blue, Nano grey, Tango red and Vegas yellow. Wheel choices include options ranging from 17- to 19-inch.

New additions to the inside include Audi’s virtual cockpit technology, complete with 12.3-inch diagonal TFT screen, which first debuted on the TT back in 2014.

The plug-in hybrid e-tron version of the A3 Sportback combines a 1.4-litre TFSI engine with 150bhp and 184.4 lb-ft of torque with an electric motor that produces 75kW and 243.4 lb-ft.

Order books open next month, with deliveries expected later in the year.
