We all know the story… A Porsche is just a hopped up VW bug in running shoes!  blah blah blah.  However, this little cheeky monkey in front of you certainly looks like a Bug in running shoes!

After what started out as a bit of playful forum banter and a photoshop posting session has led to VW arranging to give the dedicated crowd of nuts on the massive VW website, VWvortex, early access to the striking new Beetle.  You may remember the shot of a very similar looking render the guys came up with on our Facebook Page and if so… they got pretty close.

Clearly drawing  inspiration from the generation 1 911 GT3 RS, wrapped in black and finished with awesome bright orange 20-inch alloys from VMR.

Its not all show and no stop though, as tucked up behind those wheels are a rather large set of 14″ brake discs from Brembo.  The guys at VWvortex will have to wait patiently until the car arrives on dealer forecourts before it starts tweaking the engine and applying the go though.  From then on there is indcation of the usual turbo mods, a free flowing exhaust and a minging great big GT3 RS-style rear wing hanging out back… that we will hold judgement on.
