The SCORE Baja 1000, if some of you are unaware, is an off-road race that takes place on Mexico’s Baja California Peninsula. Some might say it is the pinnacle of off road racing…others point their fingers towards the Paris Dakar. Either way, it is an epic race of monumental proportions.

The 1000 is actually part of a series of races that include the Baja 500, San Felipe 250 and the Primm 300. The event, which includes various types of vehicle from small capacity and large capacity motorcycles, stock VW powered vehicles, production vehicles, buggies, trucks, and custom fabricated race vehicles – The big bad boy trophy trucks drop in here.

The course which has remained pretty much the same over the years with most of the daily events being either a point-to-point race from Ensenada to La Paz, or a loop race starting and finishing in Ensenada. The 1000 in the name would usually lead to the description of the mileage to be travelled however the Baja is a little misleading due to the mileage varying from event to event.

Check out the clip below of the start of the race off the streets of Ensendada, Mexico.

We will bring you more clips as they come through…
