When IndyCar started a bidding war for its new-for-2012 chassis design, Deltawing immediately stuck its neck out with by far the most radical design. Though ultimately beaten to the dotted line by Dallara, the Deltawing Project caused such a stir that Duncan Drayton Highcroft Racing announced it would run a lightweight concept of the design at this year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Nissan recently announced that it will supply the team with a 1.6-litre direct injection turbocharged powerplant for the event. Marino Franchitti recently put the ‘car’ through its paces at Buttonwillow in California and, needless to say, the results look frankly terrifying! >>>
