Porsche 918 Spyder. Behind the scenes

Ever placed an order for the Porsche 918 Spyder, and wondered how your baby was being built? Nah, us neither, but if you were one of the lucky ones, or not, this is worth a watch.

Strictly limited to just 918 units, this car is ridiculous (in a good way), it has a 0-100kph of 2.6seconds and a whopping 944ft lb of torque in 7th gear… not forgetting that top speed of 345kph.

The majority of us who buy a car point to it in a catalogue and say a Little Britain style; “I want that one”, and the next time you see it is when you pick it up, ready-built from the showroom.

So it’s pretty cool to see this 918 being put together at a Porsche factory in Zuffenhausen, Germany. Put together by 100 specific employees who were selected by hand, no less.

We love the roaring sound of an engine but sometimes it’s nice to just sit back, and enjoy the quality of the machinery – the silence of this video lets you do just that.
