New Cayman GT4 Clubsport takes on the banking in this latest video from Porsche

‘The new Cayman GT4 Clubsport. Rebels race harder’. Including on the old Pista di Alta Velocità banking at the Autodromo Nazionale Monza, as in the case of Porsche’s newest video. That’s where – we’re pretty confident at least – Porsche has taken its latest track-weapon, just for the hell of it. It’s a section of track that was used regularly between 1954 and 1961 before the accident that killed Formula 1 Champion elect Wolfgang von Trips led to its dissolution.
Unveiled to the automotive world at large at this year’s Los Angeles Auto Show, the racing-version of the road-going Cayman GT4 is the most ferocious example of Stuttgart’s middle child yet, following in the footsteps of the new 991 GT3 R. Under the carbon fibre lies a mid-mounted 3.8-litre flat six that produces 385hp. Performance figures have yet to be released but we assume they are immense.
Design and engineering highlights? Well special brownie points have to go to the six-speed double clutch gearbox, a 1300kg kerb weight, a lightweight strut front axle taken from the 911 GT3 Cup, and a six-point racing harness. Oh, and that whopping great rear spoiler for downforce purposes. Available from 111,000 euros ($117,500ish), homologation is planned for the VLN, the SRO GT4, and Pirelli GT3 Cup Trophy series among others worldwide.
How many of these will include Monza’s old banking remains to be seen…
