To say that this particular animal is elusive would be something of an understatement. In five years, Vector Aeromotive produced only 19 examples of the Vector W8, two of which were pre-production development models. And even in the cut and thrust world of supercars during the late-1980s, $455,000 for the W8 was a bit steep.

There were some saving graces though. Each lightweight carbon fibre body housed a twin-turbocharged 6.0l V8, produced 625bhp and would reputedly hit 354kph. Then, of course, there was the looks.
