The 2011/2012 UAE National Racing Championships are poised to rock and roll. Although the summer has been very quiet and any word regarding competitors and racers has been very thin on the ground, the potential for another corker is clearly there. Season by season, the racing has been moving along at a beautifully organic rate and now we have GT’s, Touring Cars, Clio’s, Radicals, FG1o00, the Bikes, Maserati’s and Porsche Cup to look forward to.

It is however potentially time for someone to step up to the plate and take local motorsport to the next level, following on from the superb ground work the Dubai Autodrome have done. The work that they have put in to get it where it is now should never be ignored, however the potential for an independent to push the boundaries is clearly there.

So let’s see what this season brings as the drome and all that take part, push Middle Eastern motorsport onto the next level.
