What we mean, is that under the auspice of Gazzoo Racing, Toyota have subtly entered a production ready FT-86 into the arduous VLN Championship, held at the Nürburgring in Germany.

So how did “hachiroku” get on? Third in its class (SP3), beating an a BMW M3 and a Porsche 997 GT3 Cup on route… Overall it came home in 120th place (yes the grids are that big), six laps back from the winning Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG.

So that’s a thorough test on the Ring completed then! Now give…

For Phil it's all about the car, the quality of content and the story. Having experienced life on both sides of the automotive business, the unbridled urge to set up his own unique motoring website led to crankandpiston.com being founded in his spare room. The rest as they say is history.
