Red Bull Middle East have gone and pulled off one of the most ambitious Motorsport events (outside of F1) ever to have graced the region. Along with all of their partners and Government supporters, Ras B Ras (Head to Head) was launched, with a view of pulling all of the top flight drivers from across the region and throwing them into a Gladiatorial environment.

The aim… to pit the drivers against the clock, themselves and the machines chosen for the event. As you will see from the pictures and the press release below, the event was a sporting and public success. Long may events like this continue and long may Red Bull keep forging forward. It’s what this region needs and it’s what the people need. For that alone.. we salute them >>>

Press Release

Under the patronage and in presence of HRH Prince Mohammed Bin Fahd Bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud, Governor of KSA’s Eastern Province, Red Bull’s knockout Ras B Ras competition wrapped up last night with the crowning of Lebanese Roger Feghali as the undisputed champion. Feghali claimed the title after a final face-off with rival Abdulaziz Turki Al-Faisal (KSA) on an 800-meter, custom-built track, which saw sixteen star drivers taking turns in staking their claim for the big win.

The event was organized with the backing of HH Prince Abdul Aziz Bin Fahd Bin Abdullah Al Saud, chairman of the Eastern Province Tourism Development Council, and HRH Prince Sultan Bin Bandar Al Faisal, President of the Saudi Arabian Motor Federation (SAMF), in partnership with Chevrolet, Actionha, STC and Nokia.

The Red Bull Ras B Ras showdown was hailed as one of the most exciting, adrenaline-pumping sporting events, gathering thousands of motoring enthusiasts packing the Al-Khobar Corniche. Bringing together sixteen of the top Arab drivers in the Middle East, the event saw spectators holding their breath as cars thundered by at breakneck speeds and as drivers tested the limits of their tires.

All kept a close watch on the scores and the battles, which ended with the crowning of Feghali in an unprecedented feat in Arab motorsports.

For Phil it's all about the car, the quality of content and the story. Having experienced life on both sides of the automotive business, the unbridled urge to set up his own unique motoring website led to crankandpiston.com being founded in his spare room. The rest as they say is history.
