Funcup endurance racing. If you know your racing, you’ll have seen these little bombs before, if not they will need a bit of explaining, as the Bug body belies its actual capability. Purpose built, VW bodied and powered by an 1800cc VAG engine producing 130 bhp. Add in to the mix a weight of only 760kg and you have the ingredients for a bit of a laugh and a very pliable little race car.

The races, which usually last between 3-6 hours will be held at the Dubai Autodrome using the superb National configuration and the longer International circuit layout

The press release indicates that the a car will cost only 5400 euro or 25,600 AED including shipping which as you can imagine is superb value for money. If this is the case then they will have a success on their hands.

Hopefully Funcup will open up the door to introduce a larger portion of the population to Motorsport in the Middle East and add a bit of much needed affordability to racing in general.
