We’ve spent an entertaining morning down at Abu Dhabi’s Yas Marina Circuit, which is gearing up for the Formula Drift event on February 25.

To whet our appetite, drivers Michael Essa and ‘Mad’ Mike Whiddett took the trip over from the States early and put on a demo for the assembled media.

After our attempts at drifting with EVO Middle East a few weeks back, it was great to see how the pros do it, and the roar of Mad Mike’s turbocharged RX-8 and the scream of Essa’s V10-engined M3 got us pretty excited about the main event later this month.

Good to see Michael Essa’s getting into the local spirit.
