Lap 1 – Lewis leads the two Red Bulls of Vettel and Weber and the Brawn of Rubins through the hairpin at the North Stand…
Mark Webber seemed to make a habit of coming down the escape road during the weekend when the race track wasn’t required.
Is this the best sounding car in the world? The Mercedes SL pace car being put through it’s paces. It’s funny how slow it looks in comparison to the other cars out on track during the weekend even when it is visually right on the edge!
There is something about racing events that seems to bring out the super beautiful people.
The rest of the field funnelling through the hairpin at the start of the race.
The Williams Toyota of Rosberg – He has now pretty much confirmed that the spare seat at Brawn will be his. It is worth noting that of all the drivers on the grid it was only Nico that was nailing the tricky chicane at the North Stand lap after lap…It seemed to causing all sorts of issues for a lot of the drivers.
Hard on the gas through the fall out of the Golden Hour – The Brawn car just looks awesome out on the track in comparison to the other cars. Pure and Simple…I hope the look isn’t to compromised next season as they have struck gold this year…In more ways that one.
As the sun came down the experience the track provided increased…The lights actually came on very early on in the day and seemed to fight the onslaught of darkness to a point where there was no real change in the grandstand area.
It was such a shame that Lewis had the issues he did as over the course of the weekend he had been blisteringly fast…setting times sometimes more that half a second quicker than anyone else…20 laps in…rear brake fail!
I think this pic shot up the back straight highlights my comment about the lights quite well…Bright is not the word!
Jenson Button hard charging in the second half of the race – The battle between him and Webber actually made the race. Up to then it had been mildly boring as a race.
So here is looking forward to race day next year…
