Anyone worth their automotive salt will know the virtues of a Caterham on-track. Lightweight and nimble. Planted and hoonable. Chances are time in the hot seat will terrify and thrill even the best of you in equal measure.

Going for a thrash on-track – Armco left and pitlane right – is one thing, but 22-year-old Vincent Beltoise has gone one further, and taken an R300 around a rally stage. The tree-lined horizon never seemed closer!

Our thanks to Anthony Hage.
