Peugeot Onyx. Concept Debut On Home Turf

Let’s quickly run through the list of notable supercar manufacturers: Ferrari, Porsche, McLaren, Lamborghini, Pagani, Noble, Bugatti

…you’ll notice that Peugeot doesn’t get a look in there. Come the Paris Motor Show though, that could change. “Why?” I hear you…

Well that would be down to the Onyx, a supercar concept from the French firm that will make its global debut on home turf at the event.

Inspired by ‘the world of competition’, the sharp lines of the bodywork are fashioned by hand and encompass a number of different materials: while the majority of the matte black panels are carbon fibre, the doors and wings are pure copper sheet, the appearance of which ‘will change over time, gaining a patina’.

For the sporting coupe fans among you, the ‘double-bubble’ roof and aluminium arches were both inspired by Peugeot’s RCZ model. The roof and windows meanwhile are made from PolyMethyl MethAcrylate…nope, we’ve no idea either, but it sounds impressive doesn’t it?
