Our man on the graaand in old Laaaandon taaaan Luke Gilbertson has stumbled across an automotive feast we thought you’d be keen to see. Last time he wandered the London city streets, Luke stumbled across a FAB-Design McLaren. Now his shutters have snapped the even rarer MP4-12C HS.

Only five of these models were made, and all are owned by McLaren customers. Sticking with the traditional Woking orange (or Volcano Orange in this case, though customers can also go for the more ‘subtle’ Black or Pearlescent White), the updates to this particular HS model are ‘visual, but more than cosmetic’.

So whilst we have the carbon fibre rear diffuser and lightweight alloy wheels, we also have improved downforce both front and rear, and a tweak under the bonnet to cram 75 extra horsepower inside. Don’t be fooled though: ‘HS’ may stand for ‘High Speed’, but with no other major technical updates, we’re a long way from MP4-12C GT3 territory here.

It has given young Master Gilbertson a challenge to sink his teeth into though. The MP4-12C HS: one down, four to go…
