2012 Paris Motor Show. Lamborghini Gives The Gallardo A Facelift

Lamborghini whipped out a restyled Gallardo at the Paris Motor Show, and announced a new special edition model – the LP 570-4 Edizione Tecnica.

The changes to Lamborghini’s oldest current model, the LP 560-4, are minor and have the unfortunate effect of making the car look droopy in photos, although we’re assured that it looks pretty good in person. Both the face and the rear have been tweaked, with new “trapezoidal and triangular forms”, giving what Lambo says is a broader and more forceful look. There are new bigger air intakes ahead of the front wheels and new 19-inch matt black alloys with polished silver spokes. A new optional Style Package offers high gloss black paintwork on the underside of the spoiler and front and rear grilles.

The LP 570-4 Edizione Tecnica models – both coupe and convertible – move further on the philosophy of lightness and high performance established with the Superleggera and Spyder Performante. A fixed rear wing and carbon ceramic brakes feature alongside three new colour options, which sees the roof arch and front air intakes painted in contrast to the rest of the car.

The new models will be available from November. It’s a testament to the original Gallardo design that after almost 10 years, it still looks like a proper warrior. Looks like Lambo’s Paris hostesses agree as well.
