At first glance this may appear to be an ordinary Fiat 500, albeit bedecked in a rather sharp Pontevecchio Bordeaux finish. Ah ha, we say. Look closer…
This is actually the new limited edition Abarth 695 Maserati Edition, limited to just 499 models worldwide and – as the name will probably already have suggested – a tie-in with Fiat’s Italian automotive neighbours.
Now aside from a few bells and whistles – and a fairly colossal $50,000ish asking price – this new Abarth model is powered by a 1.4l turbocharged engine, the 180bhp from which is good enough to get from 0-100kph in 7s and motor on to 225kph. Though let’s be honest, the main items of note here are the scorpion on the bonnet and the three-digit plaque partnering to the 695 badge.
