The all-new Maserati Ghibli was one of three regional launches for the company on the first day of the 2013 Dubai Motor Show.

Alongside Maserati’s sporty new coupe, the GranCabrio MC and the GranTurismo Stradale also made their event debuts in Dubai. Alongside the sixth generation Quattroporte, which was also showcased on the Maserati stand, four models headlined the Italian marque’s display.

Powered by a 330hp 3.0-litre twin turbocharged V6, the new Ghibli – which crankandpiston.com drove on its international launch – can hit 0-100kph in 5.6 seconds and reach a top speed of 263kph. The higher powered Ghibli S meanwhile produces 410hp, meaning 0-100kph is achieved in just 5.0 seconds and top speed is 285kph.

Though is shares much of its drivetrain with Maserati’s flagship Quattroporte (including the ZF eight-speed automatic transmission), the Ghibli boasts a wheelbase 173mm shorter and measures 291mm shorter in total, focused as the design more towards performance. A stiffer chassis and lightweight suspension add further to this.

The four-seater MC Stradale meanwhile takes its inspiration from the company’s Trofeo racing car, as used in the single make Maserati Trofeo World Series. Powered by a 460hp 4.7-litre V8 (which is mated to an MC Race Shift six-speed electro actuated transmission), the MC Stradale hits a top speed of 303kph and – given the carbon fibre bonnet, stiffened suspension and accentuated air intakes – is focused more towards performance.

The only convertible model on Maserati’s stand in Dubai, the GranCabrio MC also boasts 460hp from the same V8 engine and hits 0-100kph in 4.9 seconds.

With all four vehicles on its books, Maserati hopes to build 50,000 cars a year by 2015, a target assisted by the company’s new state-of-the-art production facility in Turin. To take a peak inside their Modena facility, why not check out crankandpiston’s tour HERE.
