One rather corny opening segment aside, Mike Musto has got a few things to say about the Chevrolet Nova. Or, more specifically, Dru Diesner’s 1972 Nova which houses – ready? – a twin supercharged LS2 that produces 1160hp.
‘Gulp’ indeed! Naturally it wasn’t too long before the Big Muscle/Drive team took the Nova for a spin. And naturally it wasn’t too long before tyre smoke filled the camera lenses and the aroma of burnt rubber reigned supreme.
As a Sleeper – a high performance car hidden beneath an unassuming exterior – Dru’s 1972 Nova ticks the right boxes: faded green paintwork and aging panels, and a sound that could frighten even the most fearless of mountain lions. If you enjoyed crankandpiston‘s 700+hp Pontiac GTO piece, you’ll definitely want to check this out.
