The Geneva Motor Show is set to be the venue of choice for the official reveal for Croatian company Rimac’s first production model, Concept-One. First shown in 2011 in concept form, only eight examples of the supercar will be built, six of which have already been sold.
Powered by a 1073bhp all-electric engine featuring four magnet motors producing an extraordinary 1600Nm (1180lb ft) of torque combined, the Concept-One will sprint to 100kph from standstill in 2.6 seconds onto a top speed of 355kph. So yeah, pretty fast, especially considering the 1850kg kerb weight. Rimac developed its own battery for the model and also supplies a power-dense battery-system for the Koenigsegg Regera.
Transmissions are mounted to each individual electric motor, with a duo of double clutch two speed boxes mounted to the rear axle and two single-speed units mounted up front. All-wheel torque vectoring has been incorporated to distribute power to each axle as required for optimum traction. Carbon-ceramic brakes meanwhile are setup both front and rear. Inside the two-seater hypercar also gets an in-house infotainment system with 4G connectivity and Cloud.
Prices start from $940,000, though delivery dates have yet to be confirmed.
