You may remember our not-too-recent feature on Speed Jewellery. Or the Race And Win watches. Both offered accessories inspired by the automotive and motorsport world. Steven Shaver Designs though has taken this principle one step further.
What you see here are a few examples of his Car Part Cufflinks. Nope, they’re not replicas. The items that may soon be keeping your shirt cuffs in check were once being pounded mercilessly inside V6 and V8 Mercedes, Porsche, Dodge, BMW and Audi engine bays, until something went bang.
Having waded through the wreckage for re-usable piston rod bearings, Steven removes the end, polishes them, and attaches the clasp. Original monikers and stamps remain, and if there’s signs of fire damage…well, all the better!
And for those of you who’ve taken our T-Time, slickattire, and Import Bible T-Shirt advice, there’s also a range of belt buckles available, plus clocks, plaques and even trophies made from discarded chains and licence plates.
A word of warning though: if you’re anniversary’s coming up and the better half asked for jewellery, she might have had something else in mind >>>
