OK, so you have your 1:18 model collection, your Le Mans poster and that photo of you with a slightly grumpy looking Jean Alesi, framed and mounted on the wall. But you ain’t no kind of petrolhead until you have automotive furniture.

That’s why we’re frantically saving to spend some serious cash with Racing&Emotion. This French outfit, created by car designers Anthony Jannarelly and Benoit Fraylon, describes itself as “an art concept, a tribute to motorsport through the design of bespoke furniture and unique pieces of art”. We like to think of it more as completely awesome places to plonk your behind.

The firm creates these great chairs in liveries swiped from classic racing icons, from Ayrton Senna’s crash helmet (top), to famous liveries from Martini, BASF and Gulf.

We like very much. The only downside? The monstrously massive price. But nothing good ever came easy, and we won’t rest until our office looks like a history of motorsport. Spare us a dollar?
