There’s still space on the wall at crankandpiston – yes we thought those Automotive Retro Prints would do the job too – and after much ‘erm’ing and ‘ah’ing, we came up with two choices.

The first was a montage of the best Good Morning shots from crankandpiston’s Facebook page, but since the chances of our doing much work would be slim, we went for option two.

Recently we stumbled across pasttimesigns.com, a US company based in South Carolina that specialises in manufacturing and selling antiquated metal signs. Logged into the homepage, it didn’t take us long to find the Automotive tab.

Now all of a sudden we had choices to make: do we go for the Nashville Truck or the more astute Man Garage? How about the Stromberg Carburetor over the Super Taxi. Long Beach Festival or the Speed Shop skulls? $17 or $40?

Alongside the automotive world, pasttimesigns mixes in, among others, Street Signs, Sports, Gardens, and Military. And for the budding artists amongst you, keen to see your latest piece adorned on something slightly more ornate than a fridge magnet, the team can also create a custom metal sign for you.

Turns out ‘add to basket’ can prove a double-edged sword when used sparingly. We’re currently speculating if there’s $3000 up for grabs in the budget.
