‘How to make your own sportscar’ has been something of a theme on crankandpiston as of late, the idea of each example being to save weight, showcase distinctive styling and – critically – keeping costs down. True, the fact that most examples have been less than 12 inches tall may be seen as a bit of cop out.
But Fahrradi’s new Farfalla FFX might just swing the balance back in the right direction. Using the techniques which the team have honed to satirical perfection, you too can now manufacture your own lightweight AND fully sized performance machine.
Now, before you get too carried away, we’re not talking Ferrari (Fahrradi, get it?!) esque levels of intricacy here. There will be some nicks and a couple of niggles with the Farfalla. Plus, if you’ve no idea how to ride a bicycle, you may find yourself in trouble.
Saying that, as we can see from the video below, these are easily remedied with a camera crew and some special effects. But since Fahrradi’s model will be on display at the Museum of Art in Austria until late Augus, we recommend keeping your new supercar under wraps in the garage for another couple of weeks. You wouldn’t want to give the game away, after all.
