You’ve hopefully come to realise that one of the unique selling points that we have here at crankandpiston is our pictures. To us quality automotive culture and information needs to be interspersed with copious amounts of stunning colour to bring any story/post to life.
One of our other passions is finding guys such as Tareq Zakrya Abuhajjaj. Tareq is based in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and he is a man after our own heart. At the ripe age of 25 years young, he is already producing stunning images that take us on a journey through automotive culture in the Kingdom.
We couldn’t help ourselves when we stumbled across his work recently… so after a couple of emails and a Facebook chat later, we bring to you a beautiful collection of his work and some insight into what sparked the love affair with taking photos:
How long have you been taking pictures?
I started taking pictures in 2005 with semi- professional cameras.
Why did you start?
I started as a graphic designer, which got me interested in pictures and photography in general. Throw in my love for cars, I very quickly started to take pictures of cars and races in Saudi Arabia, specifically in and around Riyadh. I continue to hone my skills and started to specializing in car photography.
What are your passions?
Cars, Photography and Design.
Who other car photographers do you admire
In Saudi Arabia I’m a big fan Abdulla Alrodhan. There are a lot of other photographers on flickr that also keep me inspired such as:
- Murphy Photography.
- Mishari Alreshaid.

Which car have you not shot that you would love to?
Actually, I would like to have a chance to shoot many cars like: Ferrari Enzo, Bugatti Veyron, Ford GT. However it is the Bugatti that attracts me the most.
What do you drive?
I have a Ford Fusion 2010 now! But always dream of the next set of wheels.
