V8 Supercar: Look back at the Desert 400 Bahrain
It seems like an absolute age away that I made the trip to the Kingdom of Bahrain to race a Radical in the support race for the Desert 400. At the time I had never had the experience of V8 Supercars even though they rate very near the top of my perceived perfect racing formula....being a huge Brock fan would always lead me to that though.
There was a lot of down time during the weekend meaning I could steel the Gulf-Sport mountain bike and head out with my camera.

I grabbed this shot of an empty pit garage with a teams tyres stacked up against the wall. I thought the picture was an epic fail, but looking back its quite cool!

Mark Skaife on it coming into Turn one during Quali - the noise these cars make is truly awesome!

I noticed these brake pads and discs left outside one of the pit garages cooling down after a morning practice session. Judging by braking points and the high ambient temps I would suggest that hot may have been an understatement.

To help emphasise the point...look at the heat haze coming off the rear of the JD car.

Speaking of which - Gentlemen Jack coming into Turn one.

The awesome control/VIP tower at the Bahrain track.

Pushing back for another attack during qualification.

The only Chevy out there during the weekend. Blasphemy for all the Holden fans, but done for the local market!

These guys run monster amounts of camber up front just to get the cars to turn in - the gauges used to set the cars up are awesome!

The Valvoline Holden on my favourite corner of the weekend...
Hopefully Ill get to back to the V8's next year and shoot again - Racing might even be on the agenda!
