MotoGP // 2010 // Sepang // Test Day 1

Well the 2010 MotoGP season is here..well, Sepang in Malaysia to be exact! Thanks to Muaz we will be bringing you some cool pics from the track as the weekend unfolds.

So to get things started reigning Champion and last years Sepang winner, Valentino Rossi topped the timesheets on the first day of testing. Rain had hampered track action near the end of the session however the overall the day was typical Malaysian scorching weather.

Rossi set almost predictably set the fastest time of 2’01.411 ahead of 17 riders that took part in the test. Weirdly though his fastest lap was slower than his pole time at Sepang last year by about a second....A sign there is more speed in the track as it rubbers down.

Man on a mission to retain his title crown. I can safely say that he has almost all the media spotlight on him.

Jorge Lorenzo seemed to be having difficulty finding his rhythm on the new M1 due to different handling characteristics from the previous machine. He ended fifth fastest at the end of the day.

Stoner was quoted as being happy with his bike balance and engine performance however he said that Malaysia’s extreme hot weather is making it difficult to really assess whether there are clear improvements or not when he is out on the track.

Its the future

Bike racing is the future - more overtakes in 3 corners than an entire season of F1.
Can we have a full season of these awesome pics please?!

Full action, that is

Full action, that is obviously MotoGP. F1 is a different show, it's interesting on a different level. But if you expect overtaking and such action in F1, yeah I agree it pales in comparison to motoGP and many other series.
