We mentioned a week or so back that the crankandpiston Golf GTI Touring Car was down at www.gulf-sport.com to have some tweaks and changes made to it in preparation for the race taking place at the end of January. Well as with all race cars things can get slightly out of control. So we are now heading down a development route that should see us gain some more speed to match the cars ability to go round corners. The big issue we had the last time out was the cars ability to acrue speed down the straights was sadly not a match for its ability to stop and go around corners...

Hopefully these changes will help change that!

As you can the whole front end including the gearbox and driveshafts have been removed...The box and the LSD decided to have a lovers tiff during the last race with the LSD leaving the whole box completely ruined! Not only that but we had an outer CV joint fail on us...

Andy Knight did a neat job of changing all the screws holding the rear wings on with tidy pop rivets....much much better.

Some cheeky goings on in here...new lower arms and hubs to help reduce rolling weight and provide a bit more much needed camber up front. You can also just make out the new Anti Roll Bars that have replaced the factory stock items that we have been using since we built the car.

One of the things that you can't see is the new Turbo, Intercooler, Injectors, Fuel Pump (MASSIVE thanks to TAM Engineering for their help here) and map (REV0) that are being put on the car thanks to the hard work of Andy Knight...
